I decided to make a very simple form of guest book. With only one text area and no more
crap like fields for your email address, name or home page url. Just simple and plain as a real world guest book.
And also like a real guest book: HTML input is not allowed.
And a message to all guest book spammers: URLs in this guest book were automatically removed.
This is only a guest book. If you've questions or need support: Please visit our forum. We don't answer any questions here.
And please, for your own happiness: Don't leave your e-mail addresses in a public guest book. Spammers will love you.

For many years I struggled with installations of all the LAMP components, but XAMPP solved virtually all of my former woes. Congratulations XAMPP developers for a great package.
Now, if only there was a module for Webmin...

I tried for days trying to get MySql, php and Apache to work on my mac. I got pretty far, but the frustration levels were rising!
Then I got wind of XAMPP and at first thought that it couldn't be THAT easy... it was. Within 5 minutes everything up and running and staring on my first database project.
I Love It!

Helped me tremendously as I wasn't allowed to test my site (CMS) on my ISP server. Too many queries !
Set up XAMPP on my Mac and all testing was done before uploading to the server. BRAVO pour le travail !!!!

I taught a web design course to inner city youths. XAMPP helped the students test their sites on their laptops before uploading them to a server. Thanks AFT for XAMPP - anthony, Oak Ridge, TN.

I've been using xampp for years. It's easy to setup and ideal for a local webdesign installation.

This works the way software should work.
Now I'm waiting for Apache books to arrive so I can modify the
httpd.conf so PHP will work in other than the home directory.

Have used Xampp on Windows for years, then changed to Macs and OS X a few years ago and started using Xampp for Mac recently (v1.0.1, then v1.7.x) - many thanks for the work involved, appreciated.
Now, Xampp for Mac does need some further thought and, sigh, work however.
It's important on a Mac yo do thing the OS X 'right way' - and Xampp on a Mac doesn't :-(
If you need some suggestions or help on how it could be made more "Mac-like" and thus more "Mac-friendly" (in the technical sense) I'd be happy to try and help.
Pop a note up giving a contact email address and mention "ZZXYZZ" in the note and I'll know you mean it for me :-)
Anyway, thanks for Xammp (Windows and Mac) keep up the good work, we love it!
