I decided to make a very simple form of guest book. With only one text area and no more
crap like fields for your email address, name or home page url. Just simple and plain as a real world guest book.
And also like a real guest book: HTML input is not allowed.
And a message to all guest book spammers: URLs in this guest book were automatically removed.
This is only a guest book. If you've questions or need support: Please visit our forum. We don't answer any questions here.
And please, for your own happiness: Don't leave your e-mail addresses in a public guest book. Spammers will love you.

Running this for a school project. Never run an apache server before, with mysql, and writing in php. Xampp made at least the installation for my class easy. Been running fine on a 64 bit W7 machine. Can't say that for some other software. Thanks!

I use XAMPP on Linux. It makes configuration of the webenvironment easy. It makes backups of the whole configuration and data easy. And if the server is in trouble I can move it to a new server and start things up there with a minimum of effort. That's groovy!

Hi!
I used WAMP and then tried to get PHP accelerator (eAccelerator and APC) to work in it but after several hours no luck.
Then I decided to try XAMPP and moving to it was very easy, also its directory structure is much more clear and it even has accelerators installed so I just activated eAccelerator.
It didn't make much difference in speed, though, but that is not the point :)
The point is XAMPP is GREAT! It's much easier to config, it has not weird multiple config files, it has much more rich set of features.

I have a learning/dev/test VMWare instance on a USB drive using XAMPP in a minimal Linux machine. My environment goes with me and if something goes very wrong, a backup copy gets me running again in minutes.
