Hello to all the people who put this together and thanks. I will try *very hard* to solve any installation and use problems *without* bothering other people! Using xampp on Ubuntu GNU/Linux 10.04 'Intrepid'.

XAMPP seems to be really well thought out. Have used WAMP in the past, but this one looks easier to manage.

Wanting to use an Apple G4 laptop running 10.4, as a portable web development machine was leaving me no choice but to compile everything since no pre-built stuff really existed. Thanks for sparing me hours of my life I would never get back!

Hi! Thanks for XAMPP. Only dismay is that it isn't updated frequently, and it's kinda tough to manually upgrade the PHP version.

great distribution. Try to "rebuild" it with plain linux software but that is not so easy. Can imagine that the xampp distro is something people prefer to use as a startpoint or for ever.
