Its good, But now MySQL has got the stable version 4.1.7 with mysqli support.

I have downloaded xampplite on my PC. A few minutes later, I have had a working environment to do my first steps with PHP and MySQL.

thanks! easy installation and saves lots of time. the only thing that was missing was browscap.ini.
i also have problems using old php4 code due to some weird problem with cookies but i guess that is php5.0.2 specific....

Hello,
Upon installing xampp the virus HKTL_PRCVIEW.B was found at xampp\apache\bin\pv.exe
I guess that is what I get for trying to take an easy way out.
I thought someone here may want to know.

Xampp is a killer distro of an open-source apps:-)
hope you also came up with different version
like Xampp Java
Apache 2 + Tomcat 5 + MySQL + Hibernate + XML
what a great bundle!!
This runs great and without issues, really.
Mysql is running at once without the known message " access denied for user@localhost" and so on.

What a lucky man I am to have found XAMPP.
I have tried some other programs that promise to "easily install Apache, PHP & mySQL" but yours is the first to keep that promise.
I was surprised enough to even find that it worked on XP home, unlike other software.
I use PHP & mySQL with Flash so Ill be sure to recommend your product to others.

Xampp is as close to the top of "the best of the best for good software workmanship" as I've witnessed in nearly 20 years of involvement with "shared stuff" from the internet.

XAMPP is a delightful product. I was searching for an easy to install Apache server to do PHP/MySQL testing. I used a battered olf Pentium/500 with 256Mb runing on W98. Installation was a breeze, This has proven to be a stable, reliable and well integrated set of applications for the purpose.
We should support this project and this product.

xampp 1.4.7 for windows openssl is unable
to load config.

the info page on xampp windows gives downloads for 1.4.4 but I already got the 1.4.6 ! Did I step back in time ? No because sourceforge shows a 1.4.7 windows version dated 18/09/2004.
Somebody should repair that.
