New Released of WAMPP (1.0 und 2.0)
Finally the complete conversion of the WAMPP to the servers API is done.
Everything runs now (depending upon size) with MOD_PHP, MOD_PERL and MOD_SSL. But there are also new version numbers:
wampp 1.x and wampp 2.x. kvo

New versions of WAMPP (0.13.6 und 0.2.6)
[Kay released two new versions of WAMPP.] An new released with Webalizer instead of
Analog. The package of the version 0.2.6 was unfortunately damaged with the transfer, which is now hopefully recovered. ;-) kvo

New version of LAMPP (0.9.7)
What a week. New versions of Apache (2.0.44) and MySQL (3.23.55) got released.
The new Apache version fixes security problems when running Apache on Windows
systems. And the new MySQL version fixes security problems on Linux systems.
LAMPP 0.9.7 now contains both new versions.

New version of LAMPP (0.9.6)
After weeks of testing the 0.9.6pre releases of LAMPP seems to
be stable. So I decided to release the "final" version of 0.9.6. Only
new in this release is the MySQL support in ProFTPD.

New version of WAMPP (0.13.5/0.2.5)
Finally the new WAMPP is finished! With MySQL 3.23.52 und PHP 4.3.0 inside.
You can select between Apache 1.3.27 (0.13.5) or Apache 2.0.43 (0.2.5). And
now, you can switch the wampp 0.2.5c packages from CGI into API Mode (Mod_Perl and MOD_PHP).
But it is still experimental. Default is CGI Mode. Every beginning is more difficult (only a German wisdom?). [Kay Vogelgesang]

New versions of LAMPP (0.9.6pre4/5)
Until now LAMPP runs only on newer Linux systems with the so called glibc 2.2.x.
To avoid this limitation I recompiled all packages and could reduce the dependences
to glibc 2.1.3. LAMPP now runs also on older systems.
Also new in this release: the new version of MySQL (3.23.54a) and ncurses 5.8. MySQL
will now runs also on systems without ncurses.
Alas LAMPP got bigger. I'm sorry, but I will try to get it smaller in the next releases.

New version of LAMPP (0.9.6pre3)
The last LAMPP release for 2002. :) New this time: a new version of PHP (4.3.0,
released yesterday), a new version of OpenSSL (0.9.6h), new version of ProFTPD
(1.2.7), some bugfixes, and finally LAMPP now includes pdf class to generate PDFs with PHP
(you find an small demo of this new feature in the CD collection example).

Novells answer to all WAMP and LAMP systems is named NAMP or NetWare AMP:
Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl for NetWare 6 SP2.

Disk crash over the weekend
Due to an hard disc crash the database driven parts of this web site got lost.
We are trying to reconstruct the databases from the backups. As soon we
got everthing back guest book and forum will be back online.

New version of LAMPP (0.9.6pre2)
Absolutely the same like the 0.9.6pre1 release but with a
development snapshot of PHP 4.3.0 (STABLE-200211101739).
PHP 4.2.3 has problems with several popular software packages
like phpBB and Postnuke because of the bug in the file_exists()
function. The development version fixes this bug and I hope it's
stable enough to do a good job! ;)

New version of LAMPP (0.9.6pre1)
Again many new features in LAMPP. The Apache, MySQL and PHP binaries are more
OS independent and LAMPP should now run also on more exotic Linux distributions.
Besides a new look of the containing web pages LAMPP now includes: Webalizer,
Ming to make your own Flash movies with PHP, Sablotron and libxml2 for PHP XML support
and also a new version of phpMyAdmin.

New version of LAMPP (0.9.5)
Nothing really new. Absolutely the same as the 0.9.5pre1 version but no longer
pre and now with the new Apache 2.0.43 and OpenSSL 0.9.6g.

New version of LAMPP (0.9.5pre1)
On last saturday a new version of PHP (only bug fixes, no new features) was released (PHP 4.2.3). I
took the occasion and build a new LAMPP release with the newest versions of Apache, PHP,
MySQL, Perl and - the first time - ProFTPD. Because of such many changes I released this new
LAMPP version only as pre release and will publish a final version only after a week or two
of heavy testing.
New also in this release: a "security" parameter for the LAMPP start programm. With it you can start a small
security check for your LAMPP installation and set easily passwords for MySQL and FTP.

XAMPP now on Source Forge
Since today the XAMPP downloads migrating to Source Forge. In the last weeks we got
heavy problems with our old ISP (the German provider Strato Medien AG) and we had to
find another hosting provider for this home page (thank you Alendo :)
and another place to store the downloads.

New version of LAMPP (0.9.4)
This version of LAMPP fixes the PHP vulnerability and is a lot of smaller than the
older versions ("only" 17 MB). I also added a new option to the LAMPP start script: startssl.
With /opt/lampp/lampp startssl you will start the Apache with SSL enabled.

PHP Update for WAMPP
Because of the new vulnerability in PHP Kay released an update package to upgrade WAMPP to PHP 4.2.2.

New version of WAMPP
Today Kay published a new version of WAMPP. The Apache 1.3-WAMPP now uses Modules to support
PHP and Perl. In earlier versions both languages are only supported via CGI.
WAMPP also got a new numbering for it's version string. More about it at the WAMPP page.

New version of LAMPP (0.9.3)
This version of LAMPP fixes an error with linux distribution pre glibc 2.2.3 (like SuSE7.2 for example). It only fixes this one bug, so if
your LAMPP version runs on your system you don't need to upgrade!

The promised new LAMPP version with english texts and with new and secure Apache 2.0.39. If you've installed already an older version of LAMPP please
use the upgrade packet. It's much smaller and won't overwrite your own settings and files.

New version of WAMPP
Because of the security bug in Apache 1.3.x and 2.0.x Kay released two new versions of WAMPP (one with 1.3.26 and one with 2.0.39).
A new LAMPP version will coming out on Friday.

New version of WAMPP
Kay published a new version of WAMPP2034 and WAMPP1324. WAMPP2034 now contains PHP 4.2.1 (4.2 before) and in both versions the PHP session management is enabled by default.

New version of LAMPP (0.9.1)
I added some useful modules from the Perl CPAN library. This makes the distribution about 2 MB bigger. Fixed two little bugs in the start script.

apachefriends.org going online
After many weekends of hard work apachefriends.org goes online. Kay's WinApache is now named WAMPP and I finished the first version of LAMPP.
