It is very difficult to install and configure Apache server and php,mysql and other add-ons but Thanks to Apache friends who made it possible to configure all these things just at few clicks ;)

I really appreciate xampp. No installation hassle and it works beautifully as a testing platform for all my web applications. I hated configuring Apache on my Windows and xampp was a life saver.

Ok, here athis guestbook works fine, but in my intallation of xampp it crashes with error : "Cannot open guestbook file at F:/xampp/htdocs/xampp/guestbook-pt_br.pl line 55."

Nice! This is just common sense. No one wants to fill out those name, location, and e-mail fields. If you want someone to make a comment, you have to make it as easy as possible and this is how you do it. This is how my guestbook looks too except I have an optional name field. I might get rid of that too. :)

I've been using XAMPP for a long time in Win XP environment,then I started using Ubuntu and have too say that XAMPP is amazing.
