This is a fine replacement for foxserve, which seems to be swimming with the fishes. I only wish you could start without the dos window. I'm sure there's a way... i'll figure it out. It would be nice to include that in the FAQ.

I just installed Xampp on my laptop and is an old dinosaur I now have a working productive web system, the install was a breeze ........ I had a small issue which was covered in the FAQ..... Read the eror logs these guys have done a lot on the logs and it does work. Now I am off to install all my PHP toys

I don't know a better installation tool for develoment purposes. XAMPP gives me all I want and so easily. Tnaks a lot guys.

I've been using Xampp for oh, a year now. I give it a hearty 10/10, never had any problems with it! Although there was one release back there which had mod_rewrite disabled ;-)

Your software package installer rocks!
BTW is there any chance you can get KOHA([URLHIDDEN]) an open source library system software work with your system.
It could really help a lot of poor libraries around the world who can' afford the very costly software available in the market today and quite a number of strugling sysadmin wannabe like me.
Our library is so poor they can't afford a real programmer :-)

It's great!! The amount of times I have struggled to install apache, php and mysql!! XAMPP makes it just so easy! I only wish i found it earlier!

Your XAMPP works excedengly well. Just one sugestion: would be possible in future releases to choose what to install? Kind of per components/packages installation. Personally I do not use some of the software included (eg: Mercury Mail) but would like to add Python support when needed.

Thank-you, I've been trying to get to grips with apache,php and mysql and found it difficult to even understand were to start but with this software installed I've been able to achieve this goal and I am now playing with a booking room database. I'm new to this and in a few months I will probably laugh at how silly I've been. I'm currently runnning this on a win2003 server. Thanks again.

Thank you for all the work. I am a newbee and spent hours trying to install PHP amd MySQL onto my Xandros Linux with nothing but frustration. I found Xampp by some fortune or fate and I am now running it. I have a lot to learn but I think I can have a Web site up in a few weeks. Also, the English forum is great, I have already solved one problem; how to set permissions for htdocs.

Great package. Only issue getting it up and running was that the installer version does not handle spaces in path names so the default selection of 'program files' did not work. Resolved by installing to a directory with no spaces in name (webdev).
