Seriously guys your software don't work, in fact i thought it will make thing easier but shit just made everything worse. Please don't put shit on the Internet.

hello!

Your site is terrific and is one of the more humane appearing
geek / FOSS project sites I've ever seen. Keep it up guys!
I love XAMPP 1.5.1 and am slowly coming up-to-speed with it...
but I REALLY hope somebody will consider adding:
Start & Stop "Server Side Includes (SSI)" to its Control Panel
Just like it WORKS to bring Apache, MySQL, FileZilla & Mercury
servers' Start/Stop & Admin buttons into a small, fast control
... so will it help to add things like SSI that - today - show
up on XAMPP's web-based Status page.
In fact, I'm surprised that somebody hasn't already done this!
;-)
PS Maybe I ask for more on the control panel because:
1. I still haven't got "Server Side Includes (SSI)" to work
2. I'm a bit lazy (read: busy)
3. Both 1 & 2 (above) ;-)
Newbie Q of the Day: So, now that I've got PHP working in .PHP-
files, how do I get PHP to work from .HTM?
(Ie, my PHP lines work in: "PHP-Test.PHP"
but not (yet) when in file: "PHP-Test.HTM")

this really is the greatest thing since sliced Bread. To be honoest I found the older versions a little cheesy, but the newest one RULES. Awesome control panel 2.1! Great support and ease of use for services. All I can say is I love it.
Mon 27 Feb 2006 01:37:11 PM CET
cool
Sun 26 Feb 2006 01:22:43 PM CET
XAMPP is cool, but kinda weird, I get this weird thing that makes me unable to login into anything, for an instance, to my own VBulletin Board.
Sun 26 Feb 2006 04:24:39 AM CET
Yes XAMPP is great.. I even learn writing PHP with it..
DAMNNNNnnnNNNNNNNNNNNNNMMMMMMMM great grrrrr...!!

Fri 24 Feb 2006 08:44:31 PM CET
I F.>.ING LOVE IT.
Tue 21 Feb 2006 03:31:19 PM CET
I know you don't need ftp.
But how many ftp accounts can you get on linux?
And how can you create them?
Tue 21 Feb 2006 09:04:13 AM CET
XAMPP is perfect for building and testing my sites before I upload to my host. You don't have to be a Linux guru either! I'm just a basic windows guy teaching myself PHP, and it was easy, the installer set up the services and stuff. Just build your site in the htdocs folder, don't need to ftp or anything. The perfect environment for learning. The only thing I ever have to do manually is uncomment the mod_rewrite thing in php.ini. I also use a program called HostsMan, that way I can use my real domain name for testing, without having to go through my source code and replace localhost when I'm ready to finally upload to my host. Thanks for a great program!

I love XAMPP. Thanks so much guys for putting it all together. Open Source / GPL rocks! I have used XAMPP for several community sites now running Joomla/Mambo, and it's SO good to have something community owned that works so well.
All the best from Australia!

I'm very new to LAMP and it was not fast and easy to install Apache/ MySQL and PHP and make these work together. Adding additional module/ features takes additional time (sometime googling hard to interpret installation errors - I really struggled with PDF/ MSSQL modules - only to know that the message X file missing refers to some Y file instead!).
XAMPP really worked smart and I got it all in few clicks without any issue. And there are some additional components that comes as bonus without any extra pains: phpMyAdmin, adoDB, Excel_writer, Webalizer, Mail/ FTP.
There is no second thought about XAMPP for Windows. I guess it is the same for Linux too.
Thanks a lot and best regards,

I'm a geek and have been fighting with Apache, PHP, MySQL, Perl, etc for a very long time. If one breaks, my applications on my laptop don't run. Since my laptop is a mobile development "server" that can be a pain. I read about XAMPP yesterday and decided to give it a try today... I uninstalled Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl, etc and trusted you all with my time because if it didn't work, I was going to be pretty upset. Wow oh wow. I feel like I'm a giddy school boy that just found the hole to the girls locker room! You install it and it just plain works! Within minutes of installing the basic package I've got everything installed that would have taken me over 48 hours to install and tweek to my liking not to mention I now have 1 place to control everything! Good god, you guys did a great job! I'll recomend this to ANYONE that will listen. I'm stationed in Germany and if I knew where the developers where - I'd buy them a few kegs of bier!
Just tried using Xampp to enable me to use Sugarcrm. Thanks everyone I have absolutely no experience with php, mysql apache and the install was flawless!
