!!! Important - How To Post - You MUST READ first !!!

VERY IMPORTANT POSTING ADVICE

1. It is now a requirement that you provide the version number of XAMPP which can be found by reading the readme_en.txt file in the xampp folder.
NEW, this can now be defined in your Profile settings.

2. Tell us if you are using the new XAMPP Control Panel Version 3 ( highly recommended ) which can be found in the xampp installation folder or if you are still using the original XAMPP Control Panel 2.5 ( soon to be discontinued and not recommended for use in the newer versions of XAMPP - 1.7.5 1.7.6 1.7.7 and onwards ).
This new XCPv3 panel has many more useful features including a much more detailed log window to help with troubleshooting.

3. Another essential requirement for support is your Windows Operating System version as XAMPP may react differently depending which Windows version you are using, and you know how many different versions are out there.
NEW, this can now be defined in your Profile settings.
Just putting 'Windows' in your profile setting is not enough.

4. Please try and be as detailed as possible about your issue.
Remember that those answering your request for help can't see what you see or know what you have done to arrive at your current state.

5. Please try and be helpful and polite.

6. Please use forum post tags like Quote and Code as they help reading and understanding of included code.
Click me for a good example

7. Use screen capture images, where possible, to give troubleshooters a better chance at a solution, but please keep the image size no bigger than 800wide x 600high - 600wide x 400high is preferred - your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated by those still crippled by low resolution screens.
( New members need to supply a working hosted image address in their posts as forum links are disabled to help us keep the forums free of pesky spam ).

8. Please do give feedback in the end just how the problem was solved so it might help others searching the forums for a similar solution.

9. Please do post only one issue at a time in a single Topic again to help others searching for solutions in these forums.
Start another topic if you have more than 1 unrelated issue.

10. Please don't post in one huge continuous paragraph as it is very hard to read - try splitting the sentences into paragraphs ie add a blank line between sentences.

11. Make sure that you have read the readme file in the xampp folder especially with regard to the correct location to install XAMPP also that you have read the installation instruction found on the XAMPP for Windows Home Page:
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html

12. Please do not post off-topic, meaningless or irrelevant content (Gobbledygook) or content designed to start flame responses.

13. Please do not double post (post the same message twice in one thread) or cross post (place the same message across several forums).

Finally, your cooperation in helping our members, who volunteer their valuable free time to help you and the forum run as smoothly as possible, will be much appreciated.

All those who help out here are members just like you and so deserve some kind consideration.

If you can help other posters solve their issues then please feel free to do so which may help relieve the burden on just a few of our current knowledgeable volunteers.

Thank you and good luck with finding a solution. :)
