Obwohl die Datei im angegebenen Verzeichnis ist kommt bei mir beim Start von MySQL die Fehlermeldung:

Can't find messagefile 'C:\xampplite\mysql\share\english\errmsg.sys'

Was kann ich dagegen tun?

vielleicht ist diese Datei beschädigt? Du könntest mal versuchen, eine solche Datei aus einem anderen Verzeichnis reinzukopieren (Original immer vorher sichern) und es damit zu versuchen.

Funktioniert leider nicht, hab die errmsg.sys aus ...share\german reinkopiert und es kam dieselbe Fehlermeldung :(

There's an error in mysql 5.x line on win9x/Me. And here's a helpful patch fixing it, place it into bin directory.
