PHP won't work properly (<? wont work, but <?php will)

Hello,
I currently made a whole site on linux xampp.
Now, I used <? instead of <?php
I'm tried moving it to Windows Xampp, and it wont display the <?
it just displays it as text.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
