Registering to domain

I'm not sure if I searched right but how do I set up my purchased domain to my localhost?

in the ressouce records of your domain.
Just remember one thing: DomainNames mapping makes only sense for static ressources (IP addresses / domain names).

I'm not clearly understanding what needs to be done because I have xxamp running so what process do I have to do on xxamp and godaddy to forward it to my ip address?

That's a question you should ask godaddy, shouldn't you?

One closing statement: XAMPP is not made for such insecure networks like the internet, because of security issues.
