installed xampp 1.8.1

as found on debian admin ( a website)

it's in the lampp map under var.
i can start and stop the xampp engine en can call up the localhost.

but when i try to make a new map in the htdocs file (for the first of the sites i had in windows - tlocal test sites for testing updates etc) there is no option to make a new map or comy something in htdocs.
problems with the rights in debian?

To identify your problem and to be able to give you any kind of help, three things must be given:

• Knowledge with Debian
• Understanding your problem reporting
• have a clue how to start solving the problem

In my case, none of the three requirements are achieved.
I don't even understand your posting.

So what do you want to have: many not helpful replies such as that one from me now, or just helpful replies?
The forum is alive, but i can't answer to a problem i can't identify by myself.

by the way: don't blame the people don't helping you, if you do exactly the same by not telling the solution here.
That way your thread is more or less worthless for the future.

solution for my problem :
give rights to the install map of xampp (opt- lamp) to all users.

by defenition the opt is only for root users, so normal users can't write there.

seems windows is a bit more lazzy and doesn't check if you have the right to write in the root..

@ Altrea: guess you are right by posting the solution i can help someone else with the same problem.

for the record :

xampp is running , i can put files in the lampp folder as normal user.

i can't acces the mysql manager and make a db.
so the kickstart software isn't able to write to db and kickstart a backup file

seems every command i found on the net for accesing the dbmanager gives back an error , saying it isn't accesible.
