For some reason, MySQL has stopped functioning on my system, and it was
working before, with no problems.
When I test MySQL via WAMPP's Web interface, I receive the following message:
> MySQL do[es] not function.
> Perhaps MySQL is not started?
> Please use \wamppxxx\mysql_start.bat to start MySQL
> First, be sure that the 'my' file (my.cnf) lay under c:\my!
> Refresh to check the MySQL status
I checked my 'Services' and, although MySQL is set to start automatically, it is not running. (I am running Windows XP Professional, incidentally.) When I try to start the service, I receive the following error:
> Could not start the MySWL service on Local Computer.
> Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this problem?
have the 'C:\my' file set up, by the way. I also ran 'mysql-nt_start.bat', but nothing appears to have happened.
(I am a neophyte with WAMPP and I have not done anything with MySQL yet, except to install it and configure the service to start automatically.)
As I say, MySQL was functioning properly in the recent past.
Thank you very much, in advance!
