Creating a database for pc under PHPadmin

Hi I have downoaded WAMP 2 and am trying to create a database under PHPadmin. I am new to MySQL as my background is principly in SAS which is nothing like this stuff. I can use the GUI to create a database. My question is where does it store it. My task is to use fusion charts to create data visualisations via a PHP layer from a MySQL database. I need to test this concept before getting my potential client to sign a contract. I will not be building the database but just need to create a proof of concept environment.

I thought that it would write to a directory MySQL under C:\WAMP as per the standard build but this doesn't seem to exist. I don't intend to become a PHPadmin Gurru just need to get this done.
